GeoQuote Hyperlink Directory Migration - Quick Setup Guide
- Login to your account on the left using your current Telarus Agent Information. You may enter your email address for a hint.
- Go to Update Your Profile to make sure your account information is correct.
- Go to the Websites page to make sure all of your hyperlink directories are listed. You may manage multiple hyperlink directories
more easily with Link Management Software.
- Click on the "Edit" button on the Websites page to make changes to your hyperlink directories. If you would like us to help migrate
your website, it is more important that your FTP information is entered and is correct. If you no longer use a hyperlink directories, you may change the status to Hidden/Deactivated on this page. If you change
your mind and decide to use it later, you can always change the status back to Activated.
- The biggest change to the system is the way additional hyperlink directory pages are added to the system. Most PHP/Unix webhosting systems allow for an .htaccess file
to be used. This is the recommended "file creation method" as the system will automatically reference pages as they are needed with no changes in the future. If your
hosting system does not support this, the second recommended "file creation method" is the FTP method. If you provide the correct FTP information, pages will automatically
be created on your website as needed through the Link Management Software.
- The PHP files to run the hyperlink directories are available for download directly on the website. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMNEDED THAT YOU BACKUP YOUR WEBSERVER FILES BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES BELOW.
- If you are using the .htaccess method for file creation, you will no longer need the individual page files that currently exists on your GeoQuote Plus website. If you sort your
files by size, the files are 60, 61 or 62 bytes long and you can delete them to cut down on the number of files on your website.
- Delete the files "links_request.php" and "links_request_submit.php". They are no longer used.
- Download geoquoteplus_update.zip and unzip the files onto your webserver replacing whatever files are currently there. These files were
specifically made to integrate with the standard version of the GeoQuote Plus websites.
- Click the "Get Source Code" link on the Websites page. You will need to copy links_config.php to your webserver. You will need to update your .htaccess
file if you are using that method or upload the individual files if you are using that method.
- Good luck and feel free to Contact US if you have any questions.
